A bit of a mixed up promo shoot with this one! Shaunna Thompson and England Lacrosse came together to promote both the Manchester 150 event (16th May 2010) and the FIL World Lacrosse Championships (Summer 2010), which are also being held in the city.

A.DOT at Victoria Baths – Video shoot
As with my other entry today, I was at the Victoria Bath’s in central Manchester, to help out with a video shoot for some good friends. Aside the images in the other entry.. I also snapped these more ‘behind the scenes’ type shots.
Quick and dirty at Manchester’s Victoria Baths
A quick couple of shots taken at a music video shoot today. The location was Manchester’s very own Victoria Baths, winner of the BBC Restoration programme a few years back. The transformation which has taken place since my last visit – let alone since they won – is phenomenal! The chaps who work there cannot be commended enough for their hard work and toil. A big thumbs up from me.
Beth Tweddle
Beth Tweddle was a surprise guest medal presenter at a Liverpool gymnastics tournament I was shooting at today. Beth is an international competitor and one of Team GBs London 2010 hopefuls.
Albert Scanlon’s funeral
Albert Scanlon, one of the famous Busby Babes, passed away last week. Today was his funeral and I covered the arrival of the hearse for YNMS. Being a Manchester United fan, it was an especially somber moment in my life, which wasn’t helped by the arrival of Sir Bobby Charlton.
Manchester Airport closes due to snow
Manchester Airport once again closed to air traffic due to the excessive snow unloaded on the region over the night of the 4th January. Looking for something different I went to the southern side of the airport to get a shot looking over towards the terminal building. To my surprise, and despite continuing snow flurries the airport had reopened and flights were slowly resuming.
The weather has also put paid to much of my sporting activities recently. Out of 5 jobs to be shot since New Years day, 4 of them have been cancelled, including both Carling Cup semi final first legs (between Blackburn and Aston Villa, and Manchester City v Manchester United). The fixtures lists will becoming somewhat congested over the next 4 weeks…
Manchester Airport closes due to snow – Published
A recent spate of bad weather finally took a hold of Manchester Airport today, and forced the closure to all flights for a number of hours. Many passengers were left stranded however numbers were low, perhaps due to the recession and people opting for staycations.

Cheshire Stained Glass
Having met Mike from Cheshire Stained Glass whilst on another job, we finally got around to photographing some of his work in situ at clients homes. The main idea was to show off the workmanship of the finished glass, and the positive effect it has on the built environment.
Shaneel Melvin – Educated Thugz
I was intending on visiting Salford Quays to do a recce for a future shoot, but when Shaneel Melvin, from the Educated Thugz asked for some photos, how could I say no? It gave me a chance to test the lighting and how it’d work out with the natural lighting (and weather…) at the Quays.
He is a fantastic guy to work with… and with modelling experience, very easy to as well. Coupled in with some photographic inspiration, we came up with some interesting shots. My favourite shot (left) came about through him randomly throwing his scarf up between shots.
Educated Thugz are currently working on two music video productions with my friends over at VideoInk, a new Manchester based media production company.
Muhammad Ali visits Manchester – Published
Muhammad Ali was in town, visiting Ricky Hatton’s newly opened gym in Hyde.. and also attending a dinner at the home of Manchester United, Old Trafford. I was asked by ISO Images to try and get a photo of him leaving the evening dinner, although successful, it wasn’t without it’s problems!

Positive Arts – Lottery Grant
Positive Arts Stockport is an art group set up and run by its members.
It provides the chance for people who have completed the Arts on Prescription scheme in Stockport to continue with their artistic development.
